Jesus was the Master of Illustrations - Natural Illustrations in the Sermon on the Mount

Jesus was brilliant with His illustrations. These illustrations were taken from many places but can perhaps be split into 3 main catagories; Scripture, Nature & Real Life.

Just take the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7, it was brimming with illustrations from nature.

Salt (5:13); Light (5:14); Candle (5:15); City on a hill (5:14); hand, foot & eye (5:29-30); Heaven & earth (5:34-35); hair (5:36); cheek (5:39); cloke & coat (5:40); Sun & rain (5:45); moth & rust (6:19); Thieves (6:20); Birds (6:26); Lilies (6:28); Mote & beam (7:5); Bread, stone, fish & scorpion or serpent (7:9-10); Wolves (7:15); grapes, thorns, figs & thistles (7:16); Good & bad trees & fruit (7:17-20); rock & sand (7:25); Wind, rain, Flood & storm (7:25-27).
