Jesus was the Master of illustration - Scriptural Illustrations

0
Jesus consistently drew illustrations from Scripture in order to present the Gospel. Here's a few examples:

1. The death of Abel (Matt 23:35) as showing the evil of the natural heart.

2. The flood (Luke 17:26) as a warning of worse judgement yet to come.

3. The destruction of Sodom (Luke 17:29) a warning of sudden judgement upon the wicked.

4. The fate of Lot's wife (Luke 17:32) a warning against looking backwards.

5. The serpent lifted up in the wilderness (John 3:14-15) showing that He must be lifted up.

6. The manna (John 6:31) to show that He is the true bread of life.

7. The Queen of Sheeba's visit to Solomon (Matt 12:42) to show that One greater than Solomon was there.

8. Elija & the woman of Sarepta (Luke 4:26) to show how gentiles can be blessed while Israel isn't.
