The Sun, Stars & Moon calling us to think

0
"I think there's alot to think about, for instance, the sun, the stars, and of course the moon."

These were the words spoken by Lunar, the moon, to Bear in 'Bear and the Big Blue House' in last nights episode.
[And before you ask it is one of Jacob's favourite shows, and yes I rather enjoy it too!]

No matter what your thought of children's programmes the truth of the above phrase is one that demands attention. I think we are so used to the sun, stars & moon that familiarity has blinded us from wonder & amazement at these aspects of creation.

Today there is a partial solar eclipse as the moon moves infront of the sun, I'll be out the door of the factory to look for it. But there are some thoughts that God says the sun, stars & moon would ask us to consider, to ponder and to stand in amazement at in more awe than we do over them or anything else. They declare something bigger, more powerful, more astounding & more beautiful than themselves. And they declare something smaller than themselves, putting it in its place & causing contemplation about its place in the universe.

They declare & cause us to consider how tiny 'we' are in the universe.
Consider this, what are you in the overall scheme of history, will anyone remember my name in 50 years from now, will they even care? But they will still be looking up at the stars, sun & moon that shout down at us.
Consider what Psalm 8:3-4 says

"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?"

They declare, and call down upon us to think about God!
The sun, stars & moon are creations, they had a beginning & they will have an end. In their beauty they point to their creator as being a great craftsman & all glorious.
Consider Psalm 19:1-4

"The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world."

If the moon could speak verbally, as Lunar does in Bear & the big blue house, it would speak only of Christ, of God, of His craftsmanship & of His Glory.
