Over the summer months I have decided to burn off a bit of fat by jogging with my brother Michael. Almost every time we run, one of us makes the comment: 'if we weren't doing this together it wouldn't happen!'. This is so true - at times it is difficult to get motivated to run (sometimes walk!) It is similar in the spiritual realm. I think each of us would admit that our desires to follow hard after God are inconsistent - that is why we need each other. In fact, we underestimate how much God intends for us to spur one another on in the race of faith. When we become careless in our devotion to the King we need that timely reminder from another believer to stir us up again. My friends, let us love God with every thought, word, and action - and when doing so don't forget to help the other runners.
