At our fingertips or even at our questioning voice technology can bring so much knowledge into our homes. We can google theological issues, read blogs and watch vlogs from Christians all over the world and follow our favourite speakers on instagram. Most Christians have a Bible app on their phone, even if it is rarely used and few of us don't have emails or notifications every day with some devotional thought or word for the day.
But has it really benefited us, or is it so much little bits or overwhelming amounts of information that we either end up distracted from digging deep in God's word or we just give up at the crazy flood of answers and information.
But it's also brilliant.
Recently I made the decision to clear space in my house and in my shed by getting rid of books. I found that rather than opening my commentaries I was using online resources like the ESV Bible and its study Bible notes and various other study helps. As I'm studying a passage it's easy to find all the views of what it means and compile notes that via a cloud are available to use and edit pretty much anywhere. It's amazing!
We have so much available to us, right now that previous generations of believers would have loved to have had. Our phones and tablets can be used for so much more than facebook; they can be libraries of theology study right now, right here.
