When i was a child one of the children's clubs that i was sent to was just across the road from our house, held in a huge shed by a Godly couple. Where, every Friday night the children from the estate gathered into this huge, seated shed and they told us about Jesus, taught memory verses and led us in song.
I'm not sure if there's one person from my age group from Culcavey who didn't go to these.
That's atleast 20 years ago, but jump back to today, in fact this past weekend and this lady posted several clips from Mark Driscoll, John Piper & John MacArthur on her Facebook wall. These are all men who have been used by God in some measure to shape my own theology and Christian life. So it was hugely encouraging to see an older, more mature and experienced Christian share stuff by these guys.
It's sometimes portrayed that the generations are divided in Church by style, music, traditions etc. But one thing ought to negate all this out and unify us - the timeless truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
