Tinkering With A Camera

0
Four Year Old Journey
[A Four Year Olds Journey - f/5.6, iso100, 1/640]

I'm not under any illusions that i'll ever be great with a camera. Having said that i have got better, and as friends have noticed this slight improvement they've asked how. The answer has been reading, taking advice and messing.

So for the few of you who asked further; as to which books etc here is a list:

1 - Friends who are amature/semi-professional/professional photographers have been kind enough to share advice and direct their wisdom and experience my way. Amazon doesn't stock these so you'll have to find your own.

2 - Top 3 Books
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Digital Photography
This was without a doubt the most helpful of books on the topic (my library card was maxed out for a couple of months as i borrowed books on photography).

Scott Kelby's Digital Photography Boxed Set: v. 1, 2 & 3

Mastering Digital Photography

3 - Blogs & Websites
Picture Correct is perhaps my favourite website in regards to photography, a new tip each day lands in my inbox and they are all very helpful.

4 - Once i had decided upon which camera i would be using i became more exclusive in searching out blogs etc that give advice on that particular camera. I looked at any picture i could find online that had been taken with that camera and read a lot of forums etc for its users.

5 - Because i'm pretty thick i scribbled notes down.

6 - Most important of all is to actually use the camera. Experiment and try new settings.

7 - Have fun and be patient. We don't need to suss it all out overnight, and anyway the main issue is that we enjoy ourselves with it.
