Anticipating The Hero

0
If anyone has watched Smallville they've probably had that thought of "when will he become Superman".  Season 10 (which begins in the UK on Tuesday 7th June 9pm on E4) brings this to fulfillment in epic style as this series draws to a conclusion.
Forget black & white, this season is basically filmed in red & blue. The pointers and hints seem to build and build towards Clark's destiny as Superman.
Will we see that happen? Watch the show.

Superman isn't anything more than a fictional character.

Unlike Superman, Jesus is very real with more power and none of the flaws, he is the true hope of the World.
As we read the Old Testament we see glimmers, hints and even plain declarations as to His coming. We see shadows of this Savour in the lives of His people and in heroes He worked through.
But in the New Testament He came in the flesh. The fullness of God as a man. He won the victory over mankinds greatest enemies and changed our fate so that instead of judgement we can now have peace with God through Him.

While He is not with us in bodily form at this current time, He is in Spirit. But the Epistles, the Gospels, the very life of the Church and the World around us point to the crescendo of human history when He will return again to set His kingdom above all, and forever. A time when He will judge the wicked and dwell with His people.

Now that's something to really ask about and to long for. Will we see it happen?
