Why Do i Blog?

0
For a while now i've been weighing up & thinking about why i blog. After reading this post by Trevin Wax i figured i'd attempt to lay it out.

Why
Soon after Jesus saved me i began to keep a journal. I've kept this up over the years and have found it to be very helpful. I scribble notes, thoughts, prayers, resources, happenings and much more into these.
While much of my journaling has been, and continues to be very private, a blog seems to be a perfect overflow & extension of this.

Writing
My guess is that anyone who writes anything believes at core, they have something worth reading. While i know & admit that i'm a terrible communicator, the words of a friend have been very encouraging through the years:

"Preaching Jesus is like cutting a diamond; even if you do it badly, it's still a diamond."
Obviously i hope not to post anything heretical. But you probably get the meaning of this!

Yes i do get times when i'd like more hits on the counter & more comments on the posts and while i feel like apologizing for that, i don't really know if i need to. When i post links i want people to follow those links to good articles, when i post a thought i want people to enter into it . . . Mostly though i want people to know & love Jesus more & more. So while i have to remind myself that this blog is merely an extension of my journal i do pray that anyone who takes time to read it may know Him a fraction better as a result.

Jesus
I make no apologies for the amount of blogging & twitter/facebook updates that are about Jesus. He's a pretty big part of my life and i can't help talk about Him.

You
I've appreciated and continue enjoying the fellowship, connections and acquaintances that have developed online. The continued reading and commenting, emails and conversations have been greatly encouraging.

Future
I don't really have a plan for blogging. As with my journal it's mostly just whatever comes along. I hope it means more of Jesus, not just in words of information but in relationship as Lord & saviour.
