Quick Thought On Holy Spirit Back-up Power

2
Yesterday in work the mains electricity was off, and so we ran on the back-up generator. We normally use this generator during the months when electric rises in price for businesses. Nothing weird or blog-worthy there.

But i started thinking of how we often use the Holy Spirit as a sort of 'backup' generator. Asking him to turn on (fill us) only at times when we feel we need extra power, such as before preaching, evangelism etc. . .
But the Holy Spirit is not some reserve power source, rather as Christians we would probably do well to ditch all other sources (self included) and live solely from the strength of the Spirit.

Just a quick thought.
Hope you have a great weekend

good thought

the words "I need thee every hour" came to mind when I read it.

But so often we only call on him in the 'hour of need' like you said, but the reality is every hour is the hour of need...
