A Quick Thought on Psalm 15

0
"O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent?
Who shall dwell on your w holy hill?

He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
and speaks truth in his heart;
who does not slander with his tongue
and does no evil to his neighbor,
nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
in whose eyes a vile person is despised,
but who honors those who fear the Lord;
who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
who does not put out his money at interest
and does not take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be moved. "
Psalm 15

If we are honest about ourselves we cannot possibly say we fit the description above. We fall far short of it. Even the first description of the person who can dwell with God as 'walking blamelessly' puts a big X beside each of our names.

Jesus
Although we fall short, Jesus does not. He is blameless and does what is right. He speaks truth in His heart and does not slander. . .
He is perfect in every way, neither sinning against us or God. And so the above becomes for us more of a description of Christ, than a list of requirements to strive for.
He declares that He is the way . . . and that no one comes to the Father except by Him.

So this Psalm could read for us as

"O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent?
Who shall dwell on your w holy hill?"

Answer = Jesus!
