Keep Going

2
“I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot . . . and missed. And I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why . . . I succeed.”
Michael Jordan

Ragamuffin Soul shared this quote from Michael Jordan a while back and I thought I'd bring it up again. Its a pretty challenging statement, not just in regards to sport but across a variety of aspects of life. We live in a culture of ease & comfort. So often when things get difficult we just throw in the towel & walk away to seek after a safer thing. We are not accustomed to perseverance.

This can be said of the Christian life as well:
Take for example evangelism; we could spend some time walking the streets, visiting neighbours & telling them of the Gospel to be met with mockery & rejection. At this point there's a choice;

Shut up about the good news
Or
Struggle on regardless of the social uncomfort, the rejection & seeming unfruitfulness that we may have already faced.

Whatever the arena we find ourselves in, there is one certainty; we will hit difficulties, hardship & perhaps persecution, mockery & rejection.

Lets persevere onward, knowing that our efforts are not in vain if we do them as unto the Lord.

It went well Anthony, it ended up being mostly about Jesus, which is always a good thing!

Yeh we printed 1.82million of the 'Something is Missing' leaflet. All prayer for it is appreciated
