OK, I risk being labelled a geek by posting about this:

The moon is set to move across the sun on Friday, creating a dark shadow in the Northern Ireland sky from around 9.20am. This partial eclipse is expected to last until 11am.
In Belfast it will begin at 09.23, be at its most prominent at 10.12 and finish at 11.03

The Irish Astronomical Association gives more information on this.

Updated 01-08-08 - used a wielding mask and enjoyed a view of the partial eclipse - classy
