Political thoughts

0
I like this quote from Al Mohler, I know it's talking about the presidential campaign in America, but I think it holds some great truth that we can apply to ourselves in whatever country we live in.

"But evangelicals have invested far too much hope in the political process. No government can make people good, transform humanity, or eliminate sin. The political sphere is important, but never ultimate. Jesus Christ is Lord—and He will be Lord regardless of who sits in the Oval Office ." [Or Stormont, or 10 Downing St]

I know many Christians who pour more energy, hope, thought and action into politics than their local church or even their own personal walk with Christ; read more political papers than Bible or spend more time canvasing than in evangelism.
I am not against politics in any way, we need governments and rulers, but I think we can often focus on this arena and get caught up in it all in negative ways that take our attention of the true Lord of all the Earth, Jesus.
