Complaints?

0
In chapter 4 of Mortification of Sin John Owen says;
"Were any of us asked seriously, what it is that troubles us, we must refer it to one of these heads: -- either we want strength or power, vigour and life, in our obedience, in our walking with God; or we want peace, comfort, and consolation therein. Whatever it is that may befall a believer that does not belong to one of these two heads, does not deserve to be mentioned in the days of our complaints."

I thought this to be a phrase that ought to be thought of, one which gives perspective to the value of walking with God as being more valuable, of more importance than anything else that we may complain about. Our walk with God ought to concern us more than favoured TV shows, wealth, even health; more than our houses, cars, holidays, yes the state of our relationship and fellowship with God through Christ should be the utmost concern of our lives!
