From Bethlehem to Eternity past - part 5

0
Did Jesus just come into being a short time before He created the universe?

Look at Micah 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting."
This is clearly a prophecy of Christ and His approaching birth in Bethlehem.
But, better still - Micah is affirming Christ's eternal nature.
The phrase, "from everlasting" literally means, "from the days of immeasurable time."
The term conveys the strongest assertion of infinite duration of which the Hebrew language is capable.
This clearly places Christ beyond time all together and it affirms His eternality.
Erternality diagram.

Christ didn’t have a beginning – He is from everlasting!

He is eternal!

And then Christ’s own words affirm His deity and eternality when He said in John 8:58. “ … before Abraham was, I AM."”

He had no beginning – He will have no end!
So I think we’ve reached the limitations of our time machine this morning.

Because if you were to travel back in time Trillions and Trillions of years before day 1 of creation (and that’s only possible if time existed before then), Jesus would still be there and would have ALWAYS BEEN THERE.

HE IS THE ETERNAL, ALL POWERFUL, CREATOR GOD WHO HOLDS THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE TOGETHER FROM THE SMALLEST PORTION OF DNA IN OUR BODIES TO THE LARGEST STAR IN OUR HUMUNGUS UNIVERSE!

We have been considering a truly immeasurable being this morning friends!

His name is JESUS!

He is our Saviour

and He is our best Friend!

SURELY HE ALONE IS WORTHY OF OUR LIVES!

Amen.
