We watched this fim last night and were amazed by it. It is a good representation of the courage that these men must have had, to go up in a plane and dogfight with the germans was indeed a difficult and dangerous task.
This film has alot in it, action for the guys and a bit of romance for the ladies, and i'm glad to say no nudity, (though there is an occasion when, after crash landing the main character awakes to find himself in a brothel, though this is not explored, praise God).
There are many acts of courage in this film to thrill us and excite us about the characters but I think they are a great example to us that at times we must risk in order to do right, help others and protect those we love.
Perhaps my favourite aspect of the fim was one of the side characters, a young american Christian, who was constantly depicted praying and reading his Bible as well as shooting down German aircraft whilst singing onward Christian soldiers. He is far from the normal representation of a male Christian in the media which often shows us as 'Ned Flander' type wimps who might as well get breast implants and dress like women we've become so femenized, or the freaky hyper nuttcase.
This character is a Christian of courage and trust, in one scene another character talks of how they all are afraid apart from him because he has God to trust. Now how class would it be if men of this world saw that aspect in us? Men who boldy and couragously live our lives, taking risks because we trust an all soveriegn God.
