Every Home Crusade

3
The Every Home Crusade conference is tomorow, so I thought i'd post a my thoughts about this great work.

Ralph Winter said "There are two things in the entire history of missions that have been absolutely central: One, The Bible [That goes without saying]. And Two, the printed page.
There is absolutely nothing else in terms of mission methodology that outranks the importance of the printed page. Meetings come and go, personalities appear and are gone but the printed page continues to speak."

And so I begin to talk of a work that has as its focus The printed page that is so vital to missions.
First let me look at Deuteronomy 6:6-7
"And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."

Here we find God instructing the Israelites about what they should do with His word, and though I know that today we Christians are not under the Old Testament Law because Christ has fulfilled it for us and we are now under the Law of Christ, Romans 15: 4 remains true when Paul tells us that "whatever was written before was written for our learning, that we through the Scriptures might have hope." And so from Deuteronomy 6:6&7 we find a clear principal for what should be happening with the word of God in our lives.
Does it happen?
Is that how Christianity, this love of Jesus Christ filters out in your life? Do you and I find ourselves learning and memorizing this bible and implimenting it in our lives as it changes our hearts? Do we teach it diligently to our children and families? Do we chat about Jesus when we are chilling out in our houses with friends and family? When we head out in our car do we talk about the glorious things contained in this book and when we are out around shops do we chat to our wives as we push the trolley about what we learnt from the bible that day? At work, at sport and leisure, wherever and whatever we are doing do we talk about the word of God?

I know that Deuteronomy 6:6&7 are not fully alive in my life, are they in yours?

You and I have no excuse for not having so much of the word of God in our lives that it overflows into every area, many of us have countless bibles in our homes not to mention the myriads of Christian books! These 2 central tools that Ralph Winter talked about are readily available to us, but are we using them?

But
But for many millions across our world there is no portion of God's word, no Christian literature and no hope of knowing all the wonderful things that the Bible has to tell them about God and Christ. No hope of reading about their sin and condemnation, no hope of learning about the saviour, forgiveness and an eternity with God.
And that is why Every Home Crusade exists!

History
God raised Ernie Allen up, had the writings of such men as Luther and Wycliff influence him and gave him a peculiar notion that Christian literature was an important tool that God uses to awake men and women and change many hearts. And so Ernie founded "The Revival Movement" which is widely known today as "Every Home Crusade" with the intention and accomplishment of placing a portion of God's word in every home in Northern Ireland. Today this work has expanded greatly according to the blessing and plan of God and now literature is sent free of charge all accross the world.
High tech machines, 20 full time staff and a handfull of volunteers are being used by Christ in this endeavour of supplying portions of God's word, tracts and other leaflets to many countries throughout this planet telling them of Jesus Christ, the Cross and calling for repentance and faith.

Publications
The publications of Every Home Crusade are many, mainly Gospel of John with 50-60, 000 per day being finished and ready for shipping, then there are The light of the world and The way of Salvation scripture booklets, many Tracts aswell as the New Tribes Chronological lessons and many CEF publications.

Languages
Acholi, Albanian, Alur, Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Bari, Bemba, Bangala, Boro, Bulgarian, Burundi, Cebu, Chechewa, Chinese, Chokwe, Croation, Czech, Dinkabor, English, Estonian, French, Fulfulde, German, Gujarati, Greek, Hausa, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Ilocano, Irish, Italian, Juba Arabic, Japanese, Kambo, Kumer, Kannada, Kazak, Kikuyu, Kiluba, Kilega, Kiswahili, Kirundi, Kyrgastan, Kirwana, Latvian, Lingala, Lithuanian, Luganda, Lukonzo, Luo, Lugbara, Macedonian, Madi, Malayalam, Marathi, Moru, Malay, Maltese, Norwegian, Nuer, Nepali, Orya, Otuho, Polish, Portugese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Rwanda, Serbian, Setwana, Shona, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Sena, Sharchogpa, Tagalog, Tamil, Tajik, Telegu, Thai, Ukranian and Uzbek are some of the languages we have printed through the years and since I compiled this list there have probably been more added to it!
(Apologies that my spelling isn't the best and in some cases i've listed the country, not the language)

These are shipped out free of charge to churches, missions and individuals around the world in order to equip Christs people with nessessary tools for evangelism and growth.

Using 3-4 tons of paper a day the running costs are great and exceed £23,000 per week, but as Hudson Taylor said:
"God's work, done in God's way will not lack God's supply."

So i'm not writing this to ask for money, God can stir your heart to give wherever He wishes and He can supply the need no matter what, but I tell you this simply to boast of one great work of God in our day, of how He is working to spread this gospel of Jesus Christ through planet Earth so that men, women and children can read of the sacrifice of Jesus, His atonement and find faith and repentance in Him.
Men and women and children go to hell for eternal punishment if they do not trust Christ, but how can they believe if they never hear of these things?
The "why do we spend so much money and time on Every Home Crusade" has to do with every other ministry and mission, infact the why is realy the question "why do missions?"
The answer is simple: Jesus commanded us in Matthew 28 to go and make disciples of all nations. Missions and Every Home Crusade which is a small part of that great task has a goal; that Jesus Christ would be made famous on the Earth to all men and that humans who are all fallen, sinners may find forgiveness in Christ and may fall in Love with this Jesus.

Bro, I just wanted to work on a way to talk of our work, but a way that primaraly shines forth Christ and the word rather than every home crusade. Not that I would run EHC down in any way, you know my love for it, but Christ is far superior than anything and I want to portrait that here!
