Few Thoughts this morning on Isaiah 6:16
Stand by the roads, and look,
and ask for the ancient paths,
Where the good way is; and walk in it,
and find rest for your souls.
Stand by the roads: Stop where we are. Stop the way we are living
Look and ask : enquire and ask, seek and search; learn.
Ancient paths : the path to God from ancient Moses to now. It's an old message.
Good way : the narrow way, Jesus (who is the way), the gospel
Walk : begin to move our lives in Faith grounded obedience.
Rest for our souls : Peace with God.
The message may be ancient but it is unchanged. It is the only means by which we may live lives of obedience and peace with God. We ought to stop everything and search for it, asking those who know and learning from them what this good news is. Then our lives should be lived in light of the gospel by Faith.
