Knowing God = Eternal Life (It's pretty important then to know God) And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. (John 17:3 ESV)
To know the Father we need to know the Son No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known. (John 1:18 ESV)
Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high... (Hebrews 1:1-3 ESV) The Bible is where we can see and know Jesus, The Son of God You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me... (John 5:39 ESV) For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me. (John 5:46 ESV) And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. (Luke 24:27 ESV) Praying For God's Help When we open our Bibles we can pray that God, by His Spirit will open the eyes of our hearts to see the glory and beauty and majesty of Jesus and know Him better as a result of the word of God. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6 ESV)
"If you find me short in things, impute that to my love of brevity. If you find me besides the truth in anything, impute that to my infirmity. But if you find anything here that serves to your furtherance and joy of the faith, impute that to the mercy of God bestowed on you and me."
