As Christians our political alignment changes:
We Christians are not of this world, and while some cling to some notion of Christendom; where this is a christian country, the reality is far from that. We live in a world that is ruled by the evil one. That means this country belongs to satan. In fact 2 Corinthians 4:4 describes him as the god of this world.
This means that we are invaders sent by our King (Jesus) to conquer this country/nation/world and to bring as many people as we possibly can into His realm; into His kingdom so that they no longer belong to this world but become sojourners (1 Peter 2:11) passing through and awaiting our Lord to come and finally conquer and restore this one.
