Sometimes we separate the works of God in the Old Testament and the works of Christ in the New. The book of Jude reminded me this morning that Jesus was as active in the history of Israel as He is in the Church.
"Now I want to remind you, although you once knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterwards destroyed those who did not believe." (Jude vs5)
Jude, who most scholars recognize as being the step brother of Jesus does not separate the Old Testament works of God from the person of Jesus Christ. Rather he declares Jesus to be the one who redeemed Israel from slavery in Egypt.
