Jesus: Compassionate & Sympathetic

0
  • When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Matthew 9:36
  • When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. Matthew 14:14
  • Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” Matthew 15:32

Jesus is not indifferent to our situation or sufferings. He is not like Spock who feels no emotion; but rather Jesus feels deep emotions over us. In   Luke 22:62 we see Him weep over Lazarus, He is moved with pity in Mark 1:41 and greatly troubled in His spirit in  John 11:33.

Oh how great it is that our God is not far off, but is very close to each one of us (Acts 17:27) and who is a sympathetic High Priest (Hebrews 4:15).
