Jesus: Authority For Our Seeking

0

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. (Matthew 28:18)

Jesus is in charge of everything! Seriously, you and i only breath because He gives us the breath (Acts 17:25). He has authority even over demons & illnesses (Matthew 8:16). In Mark 4:41 we read of how the disciples are afraid asking who Jesus is since even the wind and the waves obey Him.

While Acts 17:26-27 primarily speaks of the nations, i don't think it's a stretch to say that He has determined the allotted periods and the boundaries of our individual dwelling places, that we should seek God. This means that where you or i live right now, or where we work or where we go, even the span of our lifetime is no accident, but are determined by Him so we may seek Him in this place and at this time. This doesn't mean we don't move from place to place or watch what we eat! It does mean, however that wherever we are, and at all times we ought to be seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting His authority over it all.
