A few days go by and puzzling text messages begin to arrive. "We went to the gallery but didn't see that picture you mentioned. However we seen the most extraordinary painting of Eden. The animals, birds, plants, sun, Adam, Eve and the artists expression of God walking in Eden alongside His creation. Wow, what a painting."
I return to the gallery and sure enough the flower painting is there, yet i now see what i'd missed.
I'd looked only at one tiny part of the painting, missing the splendour of Eden. Focusing in on one part i had ignored the greater picture."

So often we are like this with Scripture, focusing in on verses that we think are splendid. Picking up certain parts, but ignoring the whole picture.
We really need to know all of the Bible before we can truly understand 'bits' in their proper context. The 'whole' will bring greater understanding and cause us to gaze in more wonder at the God whom it reveals.
