"Laws protecting people from discrimination because of their sexual orientation should take precedence over the right not to be discriminated against on religious grounds."
That was the ruling by Lord Justice Munby and Mr Justice Beatson in a recent case concerning a Christian couple who were refused as foster parents because they could not declare that the practice of homosexuality is a good thing. (Read more about it here)
Basically it boils down to this: This groups beliefs are more important than that groups beliefs!
We can offend the Christian and restrict them from living by and upholding their teachings and beliefs, but under no circumstances are we to restrict the teachings and beliefs of homosexuals . . .

I'm not moaning about this, i find it no surprise that Christian ethics are trampled. To be honest i'd find it no surprise if there comes a time when Christians are trailed off to prison while their houses are ransacked. The early Church faced that, and while i don't welcome such a thing i guess it is more surprising that we in the west don't face more of this type of thing.
We've got so used to having 'our rights' that we forget that early Christians didn't have any (other than the right to be fed to lions, burned as candles and generally just killed). We expect to have the same weight as other beliefs, yet we forget Paul's words in Romans that “For [Jesus'] sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
While the things we face in the UK are certainly light afflictions compared to brothers and sisters around the world, lets not be surprised at the trials we face . . .
