For Abraham it seemed to be under the Tamarisk tree. Perhaps it was under a fig tree where Nathanael would go (John 1:43-51). Quite often people have studies or 'closets' to enter and meet with God; and what a great practice this is.
I used to feel closer to God when in the countryside, and so walks in mountains or parks were a habit of my young Christian life. I can still remember sweet moments with God in the outdoors.
But regardless of where i was one 'constant' remained:
It was time focused around the Bible.
It seems more and more that, for me a literal place isn't that big a deal
It's why i love my Bible so much. Not just any Bible, but my particular one with its notes and stains. It is the place to go and meet with my LORD. It is in many ways my closet, my tamarisk tree and my rendevouz point with the Saviour
