Quick Thought From Psalm 52

0
Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man?
The steadfast love of God endures all the day.
Your tongue plots destruction,
like a sharp razor, you worker of deceit.
You love evil more than good,
and lying more than speaking what is right. Selah
You love all words that devour,
O deceitful tongue.

But God will break you down forever;
he will snatch and tear you from your tent;
he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
The righteous shall see and fear,
and shall laugh at him, saying,
See the man who would not make
God his refuge
,
but trusted in the abundance of his riches
and sought refuge in his own destruction!”

Psalm 52:1-7

There are many places we can run to for refuge, but only one will save us from God's righteous, holy wrath against sin.

In the above passage we read 'See the man who would not make God his refuge. . .'
It seems strange, but it is the truth that God is the only refuge we have from . . . well, God!
God is a jealous God, And after death He will judge each of us. He has prepared a place of eternal torture where He will punish us for sin and rebellion against Him.

However, He also provides refuge from His wrath; He provides Jesus, who came to earth, lived a righteous life for us, Died for us and rose again, for us!
If we run to The Son of God (Jesus) for refuge we will be safe from His wrath.

All other places of refuge will not only fail, but will become our destruction as we are judged for our trust in them rather than God.
