Posing the question on London's Buses

1
Just when I thought banners & flyer's had maybe had their day, the British Humanist Association (BHA), supported by prominent atheist Professor Richard Dawkins have raised more than £36,000 in order to have buses carry the slogan: "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life."

In thinking on this i've been pondering how we as Christians should come to this.
We can respond with anger or disapproving statements (some really stupid things have already been said about this). But these guys have every right to promote their 'religion' & 'beliefs' in the same way we do.

We could respond in the way one main denomination has already, and thank BHA for encouraging a "continued interest in God". Personally I find that strangely uncomfortable since their purpose is obviously anti-god & they would have people live without thinking about God.

Or we can be ready with the answer of the hope that lies within us & live passionately for Jesus in a way that causes people to ask us what our hope is, (just in case the slogan doesn't cause someone at the bus stop to ask).

What do you think?

David Legges spoke about this a few weeks ago in our church, also spoke about the credit crunch and the real reason behind it. Great sermon.
