A thought provoking quote & some related thoughts

1
Here's a quote from Fancis Chan that is particularly thought-provoking.

"In about fifty years (give or take a couple of decades), no one will remember you. Everyone you know will be dead. Certainly no one will care what job you had, what car you drove, what school you attended, or what clothes you wore."

Francis Chan

Life isn't about you or me, history and the globe we call earth doesn't revolve around 'Gary Boal' (you can place your name there).
But it does revolve around someone. Someone so great that everything is all about Him. He was there in the beginning (infact before then & it was He who made everything), And He will be there long after the world has ended.

If this was a film then rest assured He is the main character & you or I have but a few seconds as the camera of time passes by.
We can spend our short time on this screen of time on really unimportant things like cars that will rust & go out of fashion, Sports that have no real eternal weight or on our own pitifully short lives, deluded as though 1 second of a glance of you or I in a 3 hour film made that film about us

But we are invited to enter into something greater, something more important and worthwhile. We are invited to spend our time here on making much of the main Character in this whole thing.
To spend our short time pointing to the ONE who's name is Jesus.

We are invited to spend our lives on Jesus, pointing to Him as who everything is about & indeed who the world & all of time revolves around.

Lets choose between the passing, temporary things or the all mighty, everlasting, most glorious Christ.

We can spend our short lives making much of ourselves, even though we're really meaningless in the overall picture & will mean nothing to anyone in fifty odd years.

Or

We can spend it on Jesus.
