Who's Telling The Truth

Tim Challies has posted some great advice from Scripture to help discern between true and false teachers, here's an appetizer;


"“For who among them has stood in the council of the Lord
to see and to hear his word,
or who has paid attention to his word and listened?” (Jeremiah 23:18)

What wisdom there is in this verse! It cuts to the heart of the difference between leaders who are godly and leaders who are only godly in pretense. A godly leader is one who has not only stood in the council of the Lord, and has thus seen and heard His Word, but one who has paid attention and listened. He has listened not just with his ears, but with his heart."
