Hebrews 5:12-14
"For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."
I wonder if you read this verse with the same thought as I do; "Am I on solid food, do I exercise my senses to discern both good and evil, or, am I on milk, unskilled in the word of righteousness?"
I sometimes wonder if in our postmodern/emergent era when to assess or jude something as being wrong or sinful, even evil if this verse can be in any way possible politically correct?
But the question remains, do you and I discern between good and evil, do we discern what is truth from heresy?
According to the above passage our discernment is infact a measuring stick or indicator of where we are in maturity in the Christian walk!
Just something for us to ponder and a great verse to convict us about moving on to a deeper knowledge and walk with God and into meatier things from His Word!
