Some random Quotes

0
A couple of nights ago I was was flicking through a few old journals and notebooks that I've kept notes, quotes and thoughts in for the past number of years. A few of the quotes etc I thought were pretty good and hence this post. They are in 'proverbesque' style, having no order or flow.
On some I've noted the author and others I've either neglected to keep note of the author of them or perhaps they were a thought from my mind (this is doubtful).

#"What we hope/believe will happen in the future has a great influence upon how we live, act, talk, react & think etc in the present."

#"Wherever you are, be all there - Live to the hilt in every situation you believe to be the will of God."
(Jim Elliot)

#"We all respond to God in different ways, some lift hands, some clap hands, while some quietly reflect within. Feel free to express your delight in God as you please - the main thing is not the way we respond - but that our hearts are moved to respond."
(its in the handwriting of Gary Bolton but I'm pretty sure it's a quote from someone else)

#"When the threat of death becomes a door to paradise the final barrier to temporal risk is broken. When a Christian says from the heart "to live is Christ" he is free to love no matter what"
(John Piper)

#"In creation His [God's] power is on display by the fact that He says 'let there be...' And there is"

#"Heart surgery is God's speciality. Though the process is painful the results are magnificent."
(Charles Swindoll)

#"I need fresh hope that genuine heroes still exist, that some remain who model greatness, that some are still worth our respect and admiration."
(Charles Swindoll)

#"We should love hard, and not casually; fervently, playfully and simply, never slowly.
Slovenly loving makes for wearisome living... ...keep love alive by constantly keeping wonder and suprise at the core of it."
(Jim Elliot)

#"One thing is evident, the cross, this central moment in history, stretches across every aspect of our lives and has a wealth of meaning to it. It is the means of every spiritual benefit."
