your God and the God of your father...

0
In Genesis Ch42 -Ch45 we read of Joseph's brothers coming down to Egypt during the famine to purchase food. After their first journey they discovered that all the gold that they had brought to buy food with was still in their sacks and when they eventually returned to buy more Ch43Vs18 tells us that they were afraid that they may be accused concerning the money from their first visit!
Upon reaching the steward of Joseph's house the first thing they do is begin an explaination of the whole matter.
In verse 23 the steward says "Peace be with you, do not be afraid. Your God and the God of your father has given you treasure in your sacks; I had your money."

This is in all likeliness an Egyptian guy speaking, we know for definite that he worked under Joseph who was pretty much ruler over Egypt with only Pharaoh above him. I think it is interesting that this servants response to these 10 brothers concerning their dilema was to point them to their God and the God of their father.
Can we read between the lines that Josephs faith in his God and the God of his father was not a private, hidden matter; But rather, he had told the steward of his house about his God and the God of his father?
I think it is certainly a high probability that this is the case!

#How active are we in telling those in our realm of influence about our God and Saviour?
#How often do we respond as this steward did with peaceful words that tell others not to fear?

#How often do we bring our offerings of wealth, talents etc to our God and He returns the blessing.
#And how often our God, by His Spirit speaks "peace, do not be afraid" when we face difficult times!
