The Water supply in Lisburn is on rotation through the area in order to conserve water as burst pipes have brought us into a drought. Hopefully as repairs are made, and with the measures of the water board etc the water will be back to normal flow throughout Lisburn, Hillsborough & Dromore...
Updates - newest at top
Update (22:10): "We just don't have the water." These words are rattling in my mind tonight, and while there may be some areas in which justified criticism or questions are launched towards the waterboard the fact remains that water levels are down at reservoirs and mankind are pretty helpless at controlling the weather. Hopefully it will rain soon and enough pipes etc have been repaired for levels to increase.
Update (20:40): You can read the waterboard's rotation list (as far as i can see it remains a bit more past than present or future in regards to when water goes off, as it is usually updated well past the 'switch off'time; but atleast it will give an idea of when it will be back on).
Update (30/12/10 - 18:30): Lisburn will be hit by the rotation again tonight from 7pm - 10am tomorrow morning. I'm not sure if it will be all of or part of the city.
Update (10:43): Just heard from Jeffrey Donaldson of the DUP that the N. Ireland Waterboard plan to make information available via their website as to where and when of the rotation. Jeffrey also warned that they had promised to do this yesterday...
Update (29/12/10 - 10:26): Just heard from a different source that during rotation the water may be on in an area for a min of 2hrs or up to 12 hrs before being switched off.
Update (01:17): Water did indeed come from my tap at 00:30, so pretty impressed with DUP. Although it's been a browny colour for a while - getting clearer now so hopefully...
Update: water tankers will be at the Salto car pk at rear of Leisure plex at 8pm tonight (28/12/10) but bring your own containers.
Update (28/12/10): If you are in the Low Road area, an old (This isn't a reference to age) friend; Jenny Palmer a *DUP councillor in Lisburn has told me that the water will be switched on around midnight - (that is 12AM or 00:00).
*From knowing people with burst pipes and having watched discussions & responses via facebook i'm very impressed with the DUP's efforts for the community during this.
