I just finished reading Lords of the Bow by Conn Iggulden. I have to say that I thouraghly enjoyed this book, the second in his Conqueror series. I really enjoy historical fiction and getting to his historical note at the end of the book to read of how much history is contained in the book is quite staggering and brings some delight. In fact the historical aspects of this book are very interesting, and as you read that the battles, the battle-plans and victories etc described in the book, along with those characters around Ghanghas Khan are historically accurate helps to grasp some of the history of that era. (I sometimes wish that my history at school had been taught in similar ways, I would have enjoyed it and remembered it a lot better).
Anyway, one of the things that I'd say that I count as negatives in this book are a couple of sexually descriptive aspects that weren't really found in the first of this series. Apart from that there is no bad language in the book (that I can remember) and even those aspect I mentioned are not of great description nor detail.
If you're looking for a book that you'll be engrossed in and that you don't have to think much about, yet learn some history about Mr G. Khan and the Mongol nation then I'd recommend this book. It'd probably take 3-5 days to read.
