Thank you for the post. I have loved John Piper's teachings the past several years for that very reason: the Bible portrays God both ways and we need both. Too often the message is that of "softness". I thank God for Piper's balanced, Biblically-rooted teachings.
Yeh, I often thank God for this balance that iper brings into alot of areas. And his radical teachings on living for the Glory of God. He's a great gift to the church in our day
He truly is so sound. Through some of your previous video clips, I was introduced to his teachings (via YouTube) and am amazed at his wisdom, and gentleness in teaching the "hard truths." I have listened to about 10 of them, and find him so refreshing. Also his humility is very appealing, and such a testament to his faith.
Yeh, I've been downloading his weekly messages for about 4 years (before that we bought alot of Piper's tapes etc) but been listening him & growing because of God's grace through Piper toward me for around 8 years now.
He remains to be 'probably' the biggest teaching influence on my life thus far.
